Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)
(Grades 10 - 12 ; 2 Periods a week for one full school year; Prerequisites: Robotics I, Project Technology or Architectural Drawing.)
This course provides students with a basic knowledge of drafting techniques used in creating two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings on the computer. The use of Blocks and Objects with Attributes are also covered. Many mechanical drawings are produced in this class to give a broad base of knowledge of AutoCad 2007, the program used in this class. The text used in this class is Auto CAD and Its Applications By Shumacker, Madsen and Saufley. The student's work will be displayed at the annual Video and Technology Showcase on campus. Students are encouraged to enter their designs in competition at the state level.
This course fulfills the 1/3 additional unit of the Arts requirement.
